Our
Wines

California is home to vastly different grape-growing regions. Herzog Wine Cellars offers more than 25 different varietals to reflect that diversity.

We are continuously expanding the boundaries and creating new and exciting wines. From globally distributed brands, to boutique programs of under 100 cases, every bottle that wears the Herzog name is produced in the family’s California winery.

Our Family of Brands

The Baron Herzog brand is known for outstanding variety and value. Baron Herzog wines offer something for every palate. They trace their winemaking origins back nine generations, to Phillip Herzog, who made wine in Slovakia for the Austro-Hungarian court more than a century ago.

Phillip’s wines were so appreciated by Emperor Franz-Josef that the emperor made Phillip a baron. In 1985, we created Baron Herzog wines, a line of premium yet moderately priced California varietals. Winemaker Barry Henderson handcrafts these wines for immediate consumption or short-term aging.

Herzog Lineage Logo

The history of the Herzog wine making tradition is a story told over nine generations. The newest addition to the Herzog portfolio, Lineage, celebrates the family’s firm commitment to producing excellent wines. The Lineage line comprises six single-vineyard

and single-varietal wines with the exception of a rosé and a field blend of a dozen varietals. Four of the wines are produced in Herzog’s estate vineyard. That may sound like the recipe for a top-tier brand, but all the wines are priced at a serious value.

Herzog Variations Logo

Members of the Herzog family have intimately explored each of California’s growing regions – carefully noting the subtle variations in soil and climate, and how each influences the grapes. “Variations” is a celebration of the unique qualities that the family has discovered in each region.

Herzog Variations Oak is a special wine series that journeys beyond the variations of California wine country and into a Battle of the Barrels. Oak barrels are a winemaker’s spice rack, allowing them to vary the color, flavor, profile and texture of the wine.

Herzog Single Vineyard Logo

The Single Vineyard collection is inspired by our ongoing commitment to source and prospect new vineyards. This series explores the intricacies of terroir, and the subtleties of time and position in the vineyard. The land, the climate, the techniques – each of these aspects are closely examined through the lens of small-lot winemaking.

Every vintage highlights a different vineyard, keeping the wines fresh and unique. This is hands-on, artisanal winemaking. These bottles are rare and produced in quantities of fewer than 500 cases.
